Yliveto

The name of the magazine can be translated as, “Classy,” or “Sensational.”

1954–1955 (24 issues; double issues #3–4/1954, #14–15, #17–18, #20–21, #22–23/1955). Kustannusosakeyhtiö Pecos Bill, Tampere. Size: almost tabloid (a sister magazine for Il Vittorioso). Prize FIM 50. 16 pages (a double issues as well!). Every other spread in full color and every other B&W or with one additional color.

“Pippo Ugh” 16 pgs (back covers). Color.
Yliveto #1–#3/4 (1954), #1–#13 (1955).
Original: “Pippo Ugh”. Appeared for the first time in Il Vittorioso (1952)

“Pippo Metsästäjä” 7 pgs (in color on back covers, except part 6 on pg 15 with light bluegreen extra color only; that means on issue #22-23/1955 has got two pages).

Original: “Pippo Cacciatore”.
Appeared for the first time in Il Vittorioso (1952)

Pages 14 and 15 have got some enterntainment (puzzles and textual funny stuff). The logo of it (on pg 14) was called “Ajanvietesivu” (Page of Entertainment) and it was made by Benito Jacovitti. The color of the logo variates from issue to issue. Issue #24/1955 did not have that page since it was the last issue.

Also exists five centerfolds: “Streamer” in Yliveto #1 (1954)“Countryside” in Yliveto #6 (1955)“Beach” in Yliveto #13 (1955), and “Bicycle Race” in Yliveto #16 (1955). One centerfold undefined.

Kamasutra [FIN]

Kamasutra gags printed in one of Lehtimiehet men’s magazine (Hymy/Ratto/Jallu).
After checking several issues of Finnish men’s magazines, I started to doubt, if gags were ever printed in Finnish at all…
